Is he a "flash in the pan"?

Yet Another Hero For American's
Bloated Entertainment Pie Hole

By Gary;

We fanboys are living in a superhero Golden Age of movies and TV shows.  There are so many Sci Fi style programs on the airwaves that I can't keep up with them all.

So here comes the heavily promoted CW network's show The Flash.

As a superhero fan from my youth I never really liked the Flash.  Certainly the 1990s Flash TV show was forgettable.  Over all many of the DC characters appeared a bit lame to me when compared to Marvel.

The CW managed to get good ratings on their first Flash show with 4.79 million viewers beating ABC in the time slot.

I found the Flash to be very average, much like its 1990s cousin.  It was good to see Law and Order's Jesse Martin cast as a police detective.

Since this is the pilot I can't really dump on the show too much. There is a lot of room for improvement.  A lot of room. It could improve or sink. Time will tell.

For now the show can't make up its mind if it is something of a light comedy or hard core drama like the Dark Knight

RATING:  Average (at least for now)

The Dead Are Walking Again

Season 5 of The Walking Dead is days away, and we fans are going nuts.

Season 1 was a Sci Fi shock to the system.  Here we had a cable TV show with scripts and acting that were off the charts and shamed many so-called "big budget" Hollywood movies.  I have suggested that if you watch the first season on DVD in one sitting without the commercials you have one of the 10 best Sci Fi movies ever made.

Seasons 2 and 3 took the Dead to even greater heights of drama and horror.  Season 4 had many memorable moments, but it was a bit lost and meandering in the story lines. This was on purpose to flesh out characters and introduce new ones. Certainly the show raked in mega-ratings.

Not being able to help myself, I write these words while re-watching yet again The Walking Dead marathon on AMC.  I know it is a mental illness, but what can I do?

Sunday cometh.

A Contemporary of Superman and Batman
The original Flash first appeared January, 1940.  The Flash was created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert. The character first appeared in the first issue of the anthology series Flash Comics in 1940, published by All-American Publications. He was soon featured in All-Star Comics as part of the Justice Society of America. In 1941, he got his own solo book, All-Flash.
