NEWS AND VIEWS THAT IMPACT LIMITED CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT

University asks students to pick a "Gender Pronoun"

Politically Correct Thought Police

“As societies grow decadent, the language grows decadent, too. Words are used to disguise, not to illuminate, action: you liberate a city by destroying it. Words are to confuse, so that at election time people will solemnly vote against their own interests.”
― Gore Vidal

(YAF.org)  -  At American University's freshmen orientation, students were instructed to introduce themselves by name, hometown, and "gender pronoun."
That's right, orientation leaders welcomed freshmen to campus by asking them to participate in the radically progressive ritual of informing new people of which gender they "identify" as.
When AU freshman Tristan Justice, a Young Americans for Freedom leader, questioned this instruction, his orientation leader responded, "Here at AU, we don’t like to make assumptions about people’s gender."
Justice told The New Guard, "Despite being informed that American University was a very liberal campus, I went to orientation with high hopes that it wasn’t as bad as it sounded, but I was wrong."

Justice commented, "From the very start, I found that this school has an obsession with political correctness. When we broke out into small groups on the quad, the orientation leader introduced himself by stating his name, where he is from, and his pronouns even though he was obviously a male. He then asked the group to do the same when introducing themselves."
It doesn't end there.
Justice said, "In our orientation binders, the cover page actually had a space where we were supposed to write what our pronouns were as if gender is an extremely difficult physical feature to observe in an individual."
"During the grueling two hour diversity and inclusion training, one of the speakers identified his pronouns as "they, theirs, and their." Justice continued, "Students at the presentation were told that saying things such as 'I have black friends'  and 'I have Asian friends' may offend someone and were encouraged not to say them."
For his part, Justice said, "I actually found myself more offended by having to say my pronouns, rather than allowing someone to naturally assume that I am obviously a male."
Clearly, these students got an immediate taste of the liberal political correctness they will encounter everyday from now until graduation. Most Americans would be baffled if asked to identify their "preferred gender pronoun," but on a college campus, administrators ask students to participate in these rituals as though they were perfectly normal everyday exercises.
Our nation's college campuses are isolated bubbles of radical Leftist thought. This example is an indication that conservative students have a tough year of pushing back against institutionalized bias ahead of them.

Well, that's it: America is now even more PC than Ontario. Time to scale a wall and flee into Mexico.
