My Halloween Movies

One Classic - One New

By Gary;

I am going to try and forget about the horrors of Washington D.C. by watching two classic horror films on Halloween night.

This year I selected one classic Universal Studios film and one from this century for a double feature.

The Wolf Man - (1941)

"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright."

The film stars Lon Chaney, Jr. as The Wolf Man, featuring Claude Rains, Evelyn Ankers, Ralph Bellamy, Patric Knowles, Béla Lugosi.

Along with Dracula and Frankenstein, Wolfman is one of the trifecta of horror classics.

A short film but to the point. Great acting, plot and good special effects back in the day when special effects were nearly non-existent.

The Hills Have Eyes - (2006)

His first mistake was voter registration . . . . . .

Big Bob:  "Bobby, leave Doug alone. He's a Democrat. He doesn't believe in guns."

_________________________________________

The movie is disturbing, very disturbing in so many ways.

It should be noted that the great Ted Levine has now been in two horror classics.  This movie and The Silence of the Lambs.

This is a remake of Wes Craven's 1977 film The Hills Have Eyes. Written by film making partners Alexandre Aja and Grégory Levasseur of the French horror film Haute Tension, and directed by Aja, the film follows a family which becomes the target of a group of murderous mutants after their car breaks down in the desert.

"There is no Republican Party" says Boehner

Republicans are actually FDR New Dealers
It is refreshing to hear a major Republican admit that the party really does not exist.

  • Based on the policies they fund and protect the so-called "Conservative" GOP is actually a radical Leftist FDR New Dealer party. Even now they are protecting Obamacare and open borders.
  • The GOP is not Marxist. That is good. But they are not Conservative.  The party protects, defends and fully funds every possible big government program created from FDR to LBJ to Comrade Obama.
  • That is why the Ross Perot and Trump Nationalist movements happened.

(Salon)  -  The Tea Party rebellion is one of several internal Republican insurrections which seem to happen every 10-15 years by which American conservatism has become increasingly radicalized and isolated from even Republican voters.
Boehner's own career is a perfect example of the cycle.
“He came to Congress wanting to burn it to the ground,” Mike Sommers, Boehner's former chief of staff told Politico. “And by the time he left, he was the ultimate institutionalist.”
While Boehner eventually learned to respect the trust that he had been given, the unfortunate reality is that the people he helped elect have not. As a result, the entity that's been the most harmed by the GOP's radicalization loop is the Republican Party itself:
Trump himself is less a source of apprehension for top Republicans than what he represents: a fracturing of the party and a corollary decline in its ability to govern. “We basically run a coalition government without the efficiency of a parliamentary system,” Ryan complains.
When I ask Boehner whether the Republican Party can survive this, he cuts me off. “There is no Rep—.” He stops himself. “You were about to say, ‘There is no Republican Party,” I tell him. He shrugs. “There is. But what does it even mean? Donald Trump’s not a Republican. He’s not a Democrat. He’s a populist. He doesn’t have an ideological bone in his body.” So who, I ask, is the leader of the party? “There is nobody,” he says.
I ask Boehner what he thinks historians will make of his speakership. “They’ll be talking about the end of the two-party system,” he replies.

Mattis and Tillerson push for eternal war

The Military-Industrial Complex
Found Islam

  • Constitution. What Constitution? Congress openly debating and voting on getting us involved in new wars is so 18th century.
  • The Military-Industrial Complex has discovered the perfect enemy for eternal war: Islam and its 1,400 year long battle against all of its neighbors.

(Daily Caller)  -  Secretary of Defense James Mattis joined Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to provide testimony to the Senate Foreign Relation Committee, and both leaders cautioned against repeal of the Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF). The 16-year-old law has become the foreign and domestic basis of the fight against not just al-Qaeda and the Taliban, but Islamic State affiliates in the Middle East and Africa, they said.
“This has been a long, 16-year global conflict characterized by a very different form of warfare, specifically terrorism, fueled by extremism, aimed at innocents around the globe,” Mattis said in prepared remarks.
U.S presidents have relied on the AUMFs — along with constitutionally derived war powers — to provide legal cover for worldwide military intervention without input from Congress.

In his opening remarks, Tillerson said the AUMF “remains a cornerstone” for both ongoing military operations overseas and the domestic legal basis for the detention of enemy combatants at Guantanamo Bay.

If lawmakers do decide to update the 2001 AUMF, Tillerson said, they should make sure new authorities are in place before repealing existing ones. Tillerson also recommended against placing time constraints, or “sunset clauses,” and geographical restrictions into a new AUMF that could tie the administration’s hands in dealing with shifting threats.
“It will attempt to burrow into new countries and find new safe havens,” Tillerson said, referring to the remnants of the ISIS “caliphate” that are being driven from Iraq and Syria.

Larry Klayman lobbies Trump to be Hillary Clinton special counsel

(Washington Examiner)  -  Conservative legal activist Larry Klayman is petitioning President Trump for an appointment to be special counsel to investigate possible crimes committed by Hillary Clinton and her associates.
Klayman, a colorful litigator with three decades of head-turning pursuits, told the Washington Examiner he will form a “citizen’s grand jury” to review evidence against Clinton if Trump doesn’t appoint him special counsel by the end of November.
On Monday, after two indictments and a guilty plea in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of possible Trump ties to Russia, Klayman said signatures were pouring in for his online petition, which he intends to deliver to the Justice Department and the White House.

“I do know a lot of people in and around him. President Trump will get this, and I know he follows what I do,” Klayman said. “Trump has the authority to tell [Attorney General] Jeff Sessions to appoint me.”
Trump has pointedly criticized what he called Sessions’ "very weak" approach toward Clinton. Klayman imagines himself as a second special counsel alongside Mueller, though he also believes Mueller should be fired.
If he can’t get the job, Klayman said he will convene a “citizen’s grand jury” in Ocala, Fla., to review allegations against Clinton. He imagines an 18-person representative body formed after sending out mailers at random based on voter rolls.
“I’ll be, in effect, my own special counsel,” he said. "That's the way it used to be done in the Old West."
If Clinton or any of her associates are indicted, Klayman said “then we’ll try her and I’ll be the prosecutor” and “we’ll find a judge who’s neutral, maybe a retired judge.”
What if Klayman’s informal trial sentences her to prison? “I believe the verdict would be valid,” he said. “At that point, the executive branch would have to execute on it.”
Klayman worked at the Justice Department in the 1980s before founding the transparency group Judicial Watch, which he used for much of the 1990s as a vehicle to probe scandals involving Bill Clinton’s presidency, deposing key administration figures.
Klayman currently leads Freedom Watch, through which he won a major federal court ruling in 2013 against the constitutionality of the National Security Agency’s mass collection of U.S. call records, which contributed to its legislated end.

GOP to shaft middle class on mortgage-interest deduction

A Big Fuck You From The GOP

  • The so-called "Conservative" Republican Party is already attacking the 401k middle class retirement program. Now they are going to take away the middle class mortgage interest deduction.
  • A "Crazy Blogger" like me might conclude the GOP does not give a shit about the American people.

(Wall Street Journal)  -  An influential home builders group will oppose the House Republicans’ forthcoming tax bill, in a blow to the party’s attempt to forge unity among business sectors.

House Republicans plan to release their tax bill on Wednesday. The tax legislation is the centerpiece of the GOP’s economic and political agenda, and many details have been closely guarded as lawmakers try to build a coalition to push it through the House before Thanksgiving.

The plan nearly doubles the standard deduction, ends personal exemptions and likely repeals the deductions for state and local income and sales taxes.

According to estimates from the Tax Policy Center—which includes assumptions about blanks left in the House GOP plan—the current Republican framework would leave 4% of taxpayers claiming the mortgage-interest deduction, down from 21% today.

(HuffPost)  -  Twitter has suspended the account of Roger Stone . . . after Stone went on a vicious, profane tirade against several CNN journalists.

Stone exploded shortly after the network was the first to report Friday night that a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., had filed initial charges in the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Stone attacked several CNN anchors and contributors by name, including Jake Tapper, Bill Kristol, Carl Bernstein, Don Lemon and Ana Navarro, as well as New York Times columnist Charles Blow.

He called Lemon an “ignorant lying covksucker” (sic), and a “dull witted arrogant partyboi,” adding: “You fake news you dumb piece of shit.” He said Lemon should be “humiliated, mocked and punished.” Stone also said that Tapper should be “severely punished.”

He called Navarro a “dumbfuck,” and attacked Kristol for his appearance, saying he was “packing on the pounds.”

BuzzFeed, citing unnamed sources, reported that Stone’s suspension is permanentThe Hollywood Reporter, citing “a source with direct knowledge of the situation,” also reported that Stone is permanently banned.

“In order to ensure that people feel safe expressing diverse opinions and beliefs, we do not tolerate behavior that crosses the line into abuse, including behavior that harasses, intimidates, or uses fear to silence another user’s voice,” a Twitter spokesperson told the Reporter.

3 Californias? Billionaire’s Plan To Give Democrats 4 New Senate Seats

6 Democrat Senators from California
Because 2 are just not enough

(NBC)  -  Remember that widely-joked about plan to break California up into six states that died before making it to the ballot for the 2016 state elections? It’s been reincarnated – by the same billionaire who flouted the original plan – but this time, except for six states, the proposal is to split the Golden State into three: Northern California, Southern California and a new California.

The proposal has cleared its first hurdle, and its proponent, billionaire bitcoin enthusiast Timothy Draper, can now begin collecting signatures to qualify for next year’s ballot.

Secretary of State Alex Padilla made the announcement Thursday. Draper must collect signatures of 365,880 registered voters in order to qualify for the ballot. He has 180 days to circulate petitions for the measure, and the signatures will have to be submitted to county elections officials by April 23, 2018.

The split would look like this: Northern California would include the Bay Area all the way to the Oregon border, Southern California would begin in Fresno and cover most of the southern state.

A new California would also begin in Los Angeles County and cover coastal areas.

So why three states?

The proposal says that the current state of California has 39.5 million people, and Northern California — with the Bay Area as the center of technology — leading in per capita personal income levels across California.

In the current California, wealth is dispropotionately concentrated in the Bay Area, with the San Joaquin Valley being one of the poorest regions in the country.

With three states, income levels would also vary, but the Bay Area would still be among the wealthiest per capita income levels in the country (mainly in San Francisco and Marin County).

Another Leftist scheme to add four new Democrat seats to the U.S. Senate.

Conservative voters in Northern California and the Central Valley have been divided up to prevent any possible election of a Republican. Northern California Republicans were lumped in with the Leftist San Francisco Bay Area. While Conservatives in the southern Central Valley were tossed into now solidly Democrat Southern California.

The Swamp Fights Back

The corrupt Republicrat Globalists are out with fangs and claws to destroy the Nationalist Movement headed by President Trump.

Nothing is sacred, the FBI, CIA and NSA have all allied themselves with the Oligarch Elites to have Secret Courts spy on everyone who might oppose their agenda. Mueller is their hand picked lackey who has hired Clinton lawyers to "investigate" Trump.

Meanwhile the GOP alternates between running the hearings targeting Trump or sitting around with their thumbs up their asses.

The crimes of the Hildebeast and her minions are ignored. Only Trump and his supporters are targeted.

A GOP Plot to Get Trump
Judge Jeanine Pirro criticized Republican lawmakers for essentially sitting on their hands while Democrats "railroad" President Trump.
.
Pirro said there is a "subtle Republican plot" to bring down Trump and install another establishment Republican president similar to George Bush or 2008 nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

Pat Buchanan: "It’s Trump’s Party Now"

It's Patriot Nationalists
vs
Swamp Oligarchs

By Patrick J. Buchanan
“More is now required of us than to put down our thoughts in writing,” declaimed Jeff Flake in his oration against President Trump, just before he announced he will be quitting the Senate.
Though he had lifted the title of his August anti-Trump polemic, “Conscience of a Conservative,” from Barry Goldwater, Jeff Flake is no Barry Goldwater.
Goldwater took on the GOP establishment in the primaries, voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, defiantly declared, “Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice,” and then went down to defeat battling to the end after the assassination of JFK made LBJ invincible.
The real “Mr. Conservative” was a true profile in courage.
Flake, with only 18 percent approval in Arizona, decided to pack it in rather than get waxed in his own primary. With Falstaff, Flake appears to believe that “discretion is the better part of valor.”
Sen. Bob Corker is another summertime soldier calling on colleagues to stand and fight Trump while he retires to Tennessee.
It’s no wonder the establishment is viewed with such derision.
Flake calls Trump “dangerous to our democracy.” But the real threat Trump represents is to the GOP establishment’s control of the party’s agenda and the party’s destiny.
U.S. politics have indeed been coarsened, with Trump playing a lead role. Yet, beneath the savagery of the uncivil war in the party lies more than personal insults and personality clashes.
Communist-Business Alliance
Nike closed down their American factories and moved to Communist Vietnam where free speech and labor unions are both illegal. Nike uses Communist thugs in Vietnam to make sure their sweatshop work force never forms a union to demand good wages and working conditions. And the politicians from both U.S. parties eagerly allow this exporting of American jobs in order to pad the profits of Wall Street.

This is a struggle about policy, about the future. And Trump is president because he read the party and the country right, while the Bush-McCain Republican establishment had lost touch with both.
How could the Beltway GOP not see that its defining policies — open borders, amnesty, free trade globalism, compulsive military intervention in foreign lands for ideological ends — were alienating its coalition?
What had a quarter century of Bushite free trade produced?
About $12 trillion in trade deficits, $4 trillion with China alone, a loss of 55,000 plants and 6 million manufacturing jobs.
We imported goods “Made in China,” while exporting our future.
U.S. elites made China great again, to where Beijing is now challenging our strategic position and presence in Asia.
Could Republicans not see the factories shutting down, or not understand why workers’ wages had failed to rise for decades?

What did the democracy crusades “to end tyranny in our world” accomplish?
Thousands of U.S. dead, tens of thousands of wounded, trillions of dollars sunk, and a Mideast awash in blood from Afghanistan to Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen, with millions uprooted and homeless. Yet, still, the GOP establishment has not repudiated the mindset that produced this.
With the Cold War over for a quarter of a century, what is the case now for America, $20 trillion in debt, going abroad in search of monsters to destroy?
Consider. Bush-Obama “open borders” brought in tens of millions of Third World peoples, legally and illegally, to rising resistance from Americans forced to bear the economic and social costs.
What was the GOP establishment’s reply to the opposition to amnesty for illegals and calls for a moratorium on legal immigration, to assimilate the tens of millions already here?
To call them nativists and parade their moral superiority.
Flake and Corker are being beatified by the Beltway elites, and George W. Bush and John McCain celebrated for their denunciations of Trumpism.
Yet no two people are more responsible for the blunders of the post-Cold War era than McCain and Bush.
About which of half a dozen wars were they right?
Yesterday’s New York Times recognized Trump’s triumph:
“Despite the fervor of President Trump’s Republican opponents, the president’s brand of hard-edged nationalism — with its gut-level cultural appeals and hard lines on trade and immigration — is taking root within his adopted party.”
