Wednesday Season 1
vs
Wednesday Season 2
Think Ghostbusters vs Ghostbusters 2
By Gary;
I watched all eight episodes of Wednesday over the Thanksgiving weekend, 2022.
I couldn't put down the remote and was glued to the TV for hours.
Netflix had hit a home run with bases loaded.
But even crazier, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Wednesday had become a world-wide cult hit. Jeanna Ortega's name was now on everyone's lips.
The Hollywood strike delayed the series for a long time. When you lose momentum it can kill a series. . . . and a lot of momentum was lost.
I used Ghostbusters above as my example. No one cares about Ghostbusters 2.
The same characters are mostly there, but Tim Burton and the writers had no clue what to do with them. So what did they do??? They flooded the screen with tons of meaningless new and old characters and plotlines that no one asked for.
Season 1 was largely focused on the adventures of Wednesday and Enid that climaxed with that tearful hug at the end - - - - Something totally unexpected had happened. Wednesday made a best friend.
With Season 2 Wednesday is almost a supporting character in her own show. We hardly see her, and what we do see is somewhat boring.
I will withhold judgement until the last four episodes are released. But I fear that we are seeing a Ghostbusters 2.
RATED 5 out of 10
