Man guilty of possessing muzzleloader bullets - Welcome to the police state

Mark Witaschek holds his Knight Revolution .50 caliber muzzleloader.
This is a 2005 model that is based on the centuries-old technology.

Shock Verdict
  • GUILTY of possessing muzzleloader bullets in D.C.
  • A police state judge orders antique gun owner to register with the Metropolitan Police Department’s firearm offenders’ registry within 48 hours.

The American Police State  -  A shocking verdict confirms lawmakers arbitrarily write and enforce laws at whim with total disregard for the constitution.

Mark Witaschek has been found guilty of "attempted possession of unlawful ammunition" for antique replica muzzleloader bullets. There was much debate over whether the bullets were legal since D.C. residents are allowed to buy antique replica firearms without registering.

In a surprising twist at the end of a long trial, a District of Columbia judge found Mark Witaschek guilty of “attempted possession of unlawful ammunition” for antique replica muzzleloader bullets.

A Must See Video

Judge Robert Morin sentenced Witaschek to time served, a $50 fine and required him to enroll with the Metropolitan Police Department’s firearm offenders’ registry within 48 hours.

Outside the courtroom, the Washington Times asked Witaschek how he felt about the verdict. “I’m completely outraged by it,” he said. “This is just a continuation of the nightmare. Just to sit there. I could not believe it.”

Shaking his head, he added, “None of these people know anything about gun issues, including the judge.”

His wife Bonnie Witaschek was crying. “It’s just so scary,” she said. “You never think you’ll end up in a situation like this, but here we are.”

Witaschek’s attorney Howard X. McEachern shook his client’s hand and said, “We’re not done.”  McEachern plans to appeal the decision.

Before sentencing, Witaschek addressed the judge.

“I’ve never been arrested in my life up until this incident,” he said, his voice cracking with emotion. “My use of firearms is strictly recreational. I’ve never had any criminal intent.”

The businessman asked for leniency so that he would not lose his license to practice his financial management company.

“I run the risk of losing my job, my occupation, as a result of this conviction,” he said. “I ask the court not to add to that burden of what’s already been done to my life over the last two years.”

China deal protested by hundreds of thousands in Taiwan

The Screw-Job Cometh
  • Both the Democrats and the Republicans totally sold out U.S. workers and shipped countless millions of jobs to China, India and Mexico.
  • Now the people of Taiwan are being screwed over by their own government in an insane pact to abolish the jobs of thousands of local workers and give them to the Communist Chinese.

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators gathered in the streets around Taiwan's Parliament on Sunday to voice their opposition to a trade pact with China, part of a nearly 2-week-old protest that is challenging the president's policy of moving the democratic island economically closer to China.

Lin Fei-fan, a protest organizer, estimated that 500,000 people had turned out in the biggest demonstration since the movement started. An Associated Press estimate put the number at more than 200,000, and a police estimate at more than 100,000.

Crowds dressed in black sat on one blocked boulevard, many carrying plastic or real sunflowers, the symbol of the protest movement, and wearing yellow ribbons that read "Fight for democracy, retract the service trade pact," reports USA Today.

Several hundred mainly student protesters have been occupying Taiwan's legislature since March 18, supported by thousands outside the building.

They are protesting President Ma Ying-jeou's intention to enact a trade deal that would allow Taiwanese and Chinese service sector companies in businesses ranging from banking to beauty parlors to open up branches or shops in the other's territory.

Thousands of Taiwanese protest China pact
Just like in the U.S., the Taiwanese government wants to sell out their
nation and allow endless job losses to Corporatist-Communist
backed Chinese companies.

Protesters display a banner denouncing the controversial China-Taiwan trade
pact during a massive protest in front of the Presidential Building in Taipei.

The action was sparked by the decision by a lawmaker from Ma's ruling Nationalist Party to renege on a promised clause-by-clause review of the trade deal, which was signed by both sides last year but is awaiting ratification by Taiwan's Parliament.

On Saturday, Ma gave into students' demands to increase scrutiny of future pacts signed with China, but refused to withdraw the pact in question, saying it would deeply harm Taiwan's interests.

"I'm not against free trade, but the government should come up with policies to protect local industries before they open the door," said a protester, Philip Lihan, 30, a graphic designer in Taipei originally from Chiayi in southern Taiwan.

"I've been sitting-in near the legislature every day after work until midnight," said Lihan, who added that he had been working with other artists to create murals in support of the protest.

Flower shop worker Li Li-ming took a four-hour bus ride from her home in Tainan city in southern Taiwan to the capital Sunday morning with her children, aged 7 and 9, to take part in the protest.

"This is the first time that I have participated in such a big demonstration and I am here because this is a demonstration led by neither party, but students," said Li, 38. "I just came back from Hong Kong. Everything is getting so expensive there. I'm afraid Taiwan will become like Hong Kong."

Opponents of the pact say it would cost Taiwan tens of thousands of jobs because small businesses on the island will be unable to compete with cash-rich, mostly state-run Chinese companies intent on investing in Taiwan. They also say it would give a big boost to China's efforts to bring the island, which split from the mainland 65 years ago, under its control.

The protest is the most serious challenge to Ma's signature policy of moving Taiwan ever closer to China by tying their economies together. Since he took office in May 2008, he has superintended a drastic upsurge in the number of cross-strait flights, and pushed through more than a dozen commercial agreements with China, including a partial free trade deal that slashed tariffs on scores of items in 2010.

Obamacare sends out voter registration card pre-marked for Democratic Party

"Corruptus in Extremis"
  • It is bad enough that the Socialists use big government programs to sign up millions of voters too lazy or too stupid to do it on their own.  But now it appears some voter registration forms are coming pre-marked for Democrats.

A San Diego area couple called ABC 10News concerned after they received an envelope from the state's Obamacare website, Covered California. Inside was a letter discussing voter registration and a registration card pre-marked with an "x" in the box next to Democratic Party.

The couple – who did not want their identity revealed – received the letter and voter registration card from their health insurance provider Covered California, the state-run agency that implements President Obama's Affordable Care Act reports ABC10 News.

They have lived in La Mesa for years and they have always been registered to vote Republican. Now, they are perplexed as to how the voter registration card pre-marked Democrat ended up in their mailbox.

“I'm an old guy and I never would have noticed it, except I have an accountant that notices every dot and dash on a piece of paper as a wife,” said the man who received the mailer.

Covered California began mailing out voter signup cards to nearly 4 million enrollees last week after being threatened with a lawsuit by voting rights groups. But that does not explain the pre-filled out voter registration card.

“It's a waste of money because there's an awful lot of people who are going to get this that are already registered and they don't need to. I can see that, but I can't see putting x on the form before it's given to me in a little bitty box that nobody's really going to notice,” said the recipient of the mailer.

10News shared what was sent with Covered California.

Spokeswoman Anne Gonzales stated, "We are mailing voter registration material. However, the application forms come directly from the Secretary of State's office, with no fields pre-marked. The individual should contact the Secretary of State, which takes these violations of election law extremely seriously, and they will investigate, using the unique serial number."

The couple says they did reach out to the Secretary of State’s office and could not get a hold of anyone. They also say they reached out to the San Diego County Registrar of Voters, which told them to contact Covered California.

Islamists appear to win Turkish elections

PM Threatens Non-Islamists
"Tomorrow there may be those who have to flee. But we
will go into their caves. They will pay the price."
Islamist Prime Minister Erdogan

Turkey's Islamist Prime Minister appeared to have scored a decisive victory in local elections seen as a referendum on his rule over an increasingly divided country, setting the stage for a possible run for president.

Exit polls showed Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's ruling Justice and Development Party, or AKP, winning a comfortable plurality of votes nationally, but the margin of victory and his party's control of major cities was unclear early Monday.

Two polls showed the party registering 46% of the vote with 80% of the ballots counted, with the main opposition Republican People's Party, or CHP, securing 28%.

In Turkey's largest city, Istanbul, and the capital, Ankara—the most closely watched and influential constituencies—both the government and the opposition claimed victory and accused each another of fraud.

The AKP appeared to have held Istanbul but the final results in Ankara were still unclear at midnight reports the Wall Street Journal.

Erdogan has sought to quash the sprawling graft probe by overhauling the judiciary, purging thousands of police officials he deems nettlesome and blocking social-networking websites Twitter and YouTube, where most of the alleged leaks first appeared.

"Tomorrow there may be those who have to flee. But we will go into their caves. They will pay the price," Erdogan said.

As Turks voted Sunday, Turkey's increasingly polarized politics also played out across Istanbul's neighborhoods, with residents citing widely varying expectations from the polls.

"I'm on AK Party's side, I have a lot of love for Recep Tayyip Erdogan: he's our spiritual father. The allegations against him are complete lies," said Dilan Kizmaz, a 22-year-old in the conservative district of Fatih, voting for the second time in her life.

Initial Turkish Results
AKP (Islamist)  - Yellow
CHP (Secular Opposition)  -  Red
MHP (Far right, Nationalist)  -   Maroon
BDP (Kurdish)  -  Blue

Over one million displaced by South Sudan war

South Sudan government moves to retake key towns in an 'all-out civil war'.

A World Gone Mad
  • No sooner does South Sudan gain independence than a new civil war breaks out.  Man cannot stop killing his fellow man.
  • A media blackout - Just as with the Muslim genocide in Darfur against Christians, the major media tells you about only selected and approved news.  Now we have another major war with next to zero media coverage.

More than one million people have been forced from their homes by the ongoing conflict in South Sudan, the UN says.

Of these, 803,200 have been displaced within the country, and another 254,000 have fled to neighbouring countries, according to the latest UN report.

It warns that the situation is likely to get worse as the violence continues reports BBC News.

Fighting erupted between the forces of President Salva Kiir and troops loyal to his former deputy, Riek Machar, in December.

The two sides signed a ceasefire agreement in January, but sporadic fighting has continued.

Funny how wars always manage to
break out around oil fields.

Food Security

In its report, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the conflict had caused "a serious deterioration in the food security situation" leaving around 3.7 million people at high risk.

"Fighting between government and opposition forces has continued, especially in Jonglei, Unity and Upper Nile state, where towns and rural areas have been ravaged by the violence," it added.

The UN estimates that 4.9 million are in need of humanitarian assistance, but it warned that "the remote and dispersed placement sites make it difficult to reach many of South Sudan's conflict-affected people".

In its report, the UN says it has received only a quarter of the money it needs to respond to the growing crisis.

The violence erupted on 15 December between pro-government forces loyal to President Salva Kiir and soldiers backing Riek Machar, his former vice-president.

President Kiir is a member of South Sudan's largest ethnic group, the Dinka, while Mr Machar is from the Nuer community - the country's second largest.

The conflict has seen reports of mass killings along ethnic lines even though both men have prominent supporters in their rival's community. Thousands are feared to have died since the conflict began.

Four top South Sudanese politicians have since gone on trial accused of plotting a coup against the government and inciting an insurgency in South Sudan.

Conflict in South Sudan
The town of Bor has already changed hands three times in South Sudan's three weeks of civil war, and whoever controls the strategically important state capital will have the upper hand in the long-awaited peace negotiations. VICE was invited to embed with South Sudanese government forces pushing north to retake Bor from the rebels, but the rebels were lying in wait for us along the road, waiting to strike back.

The Dead Become Food
The body of a dead soldier lies on a street in Malakal, 497 km (308 miles) northeast of capital Juba, December 30, 2013. A spokesman for South Sudanese government troops in the country's oil capital Malakal says they put down a mutiny of troop, and are preparing for a further showdown with rebels nearby.

Darth Vader runs for Ukrainian President

Sith Lord for President
"I alone can make an empire out of a republic, to restore former glory, to return lost territories and pride for this country."
Darth Vader
Candidate for Ukrainian President

Kiev (AFP)  –  As Ukraine battles to stave off dark forces of its own, iconic movie villain Darth Vader announced he was running for president in a bid to restore all glory to the downtrodden nation.

The Sith Lord, or at least an unnamed protester dressed up as him who has often been seen on Kiev’s Independence Square during the winter protests flanked by his loyal Stormtroopers, has been chosen as the official candidate of the Ukrainian Internet Party (UIP) which has become known for its theatrical public stunts.

“After winning intra-party primaries by a landslide, comrade Vader will be our party’s candidate,” said UIP leader Dmitry Golubov, who spent time in prison after being convicted of using the Internet to run a credit card fraud scheme.

Encased in black armour, with a black mask and cape, the party's "Darth Vader" has been involved in several political actions in the country.

In November 2013 he was carried by his Stormtroopers -- the elite soldiers of the fictional galactic empire -- to Odessa city hall where he declared himself mayor.

According to local media reports he has also reportedly demanded a plot of land in the southwestern city to park his space ship.

"I alone can make an empire out of a republic, to restore former glory, to return lost territories and pride for this country," Vader said in a party statement.

The party said it had paid the required 2.5 million hryvnia ($225,000 / 165,000 euro) registration fee for their unusual candidate.

Ukraine is holding a snap presidential election on May 25 after parliament ousted pro-Moscow leader Viktor Yanukovych as a result of bloody street protests against his government.

At last a candidate who knows how to get the job done.

Obama to regulate cow farts as part of global warming agenda

Cow Farts - Gateway to Socialism
Marxist Democrats are using cow farts as the excuse
to get control of even more of the economy.

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Comrade Obama regime is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations.

This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990.

The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas.

“Cows emit a massive amount of methane through belching, with a lesser amount through flatulence,” according to How Stuff Works. “Statistics vary regarding how much methane the average dairy cow expels. Some experts say 100 liters to 200 liters a day… while others say it’s up to 500 liters… a day. In any case, that’s a lot of methane, an amount comparable to the pollution produced by a car in a day.”

“Of all domestic animal types, beef and dairy cattle were by far the largest emitters of [methane],” according to an EPA analysis charting greenhouse gas emissions in 2012. Cows and other animals produce methane through digestion, which ferments the food of animals.

It’s not just the dairy industry that the Obama administration is clamping down on. The White House is looking to regulate methane emissions across the economy from agriculture to oil and gas operations — all this despite methane emissions falling 11 percent since 1990.
